SwissCopter AGWe guess that it is not only blondes who are having more fun these days. The SwissCopter AG runs on Perosin, a mixture of 50% hydrogen peroxide and additives. While H2-O2 has been used before in the 30’s for fuel, the mixture contained 20% more and was highly explosive. The Swiss company claims their vehicle is inexpensive, low maintenance, and can also run on kerosene and bio-ethanol. They say that the copter already has plenty of pre-orders and should be out by 2010.

Jumbo Hostel

We thought it was innovative enough using an old plane as a home. We guess those behind the Jumbo Hostel in Arlanda, Sweden took the hint and came up with their idea of sleeping arrangements. Opening in December, the former Boeing 747-200 has 25 rooms, 6 x 3 meters each, with three beds per room. They all have flat screen TVs, wireless broadband, and access to bathrooms and a café where you can order coffee or warm up the Pop-Tarts you brought along. And if you want the deluxe suite, you can stay in the cockpit. Aside from not wanting to be in another plane between flights, who would want to hear the roar of takeoff while trying to catch some zzzs?

Landspeeder

Daniel Deutsch, a designer with the ultimate in talent, built a fiberglass and aluminum replica of the Star Wars Landspeeder in his garage. With an electric drive system, it can hit a top speed of 25 mph, and can go for a few miles with one charge. Even at that slow of a pace, we bet Mark Hamill would still take it around the block. It joins Deutsch’s collection of other clever stuff, such as the R2-D2 shown (Joey Fatone not included.)
